Welcome to Hope Presbyterian Church!
We encourage parents to worship together with their children, as they too are members of God’s covenant family. We ask the rest of Hope family to be patient and “let the little children come” to Jesus (Mt. 19:14).
sermon notes
When Christ returns as the King to judge the world, those who truly belong to Him will demonstrate their faith by lovingly serving His people.
I. The King who Judges
II. The Sheep who Serve
III. The Goats who Neglect
Reflection GROUPS - 12:15PM
Reflection Questions (Applying the Gospel to Our Lives):
1. If someone looked at your life, what evidence would they see that your faith in Christ is genuine?
2. According to this passage, what distinguishes the sheep from the goats? How do their actions reveal the reality (or absence) of genuine faith?
3. Why is it important to remember that acts of mercy do not earn salvation but flow from a heart transformed by God's grace (cf. Eph. 2:8–10; James 2:14–17)?
4. Both the sheep and the goats seem surprised by the King's verdict. What does this teach us about the difference between outward religion and a life genuinely changed by the gospel?
5. Are there opportunities God has given you to care for those who are hungry, thirsty, lonely, sick, or in need? What is one practical way you can reflect Christ's compassion this week?
Response Song
Crown him
VERSE 1
Crown Him with many crowns the Lamb upon His throne
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for me
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity
CHORUS
Majesty, Lord of all. Let every throne before Him fall
The King of kings, O come adore. Our God who reigns forevermore
VERSE 2
Crown Him, the Lord of life who triumphed o'er the grave
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save
His glories now we sing who died and rose on high
Who died eternal life to bring and lives that death may die
BRIDGE
All hail, redeemer, hail for He has died for me
His praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity
ENDING
Praise God who reigns forevermore
You're the God who reigns forevermore
