Welcome to Hope Presbyterian Church!

We encourage parents to worship together with their children, as they too are members of God’s covenant family. We ask the rest of Hope family to be patient and “let the little children come” to Jesus (Mt. 19:14).

sermon notes

Because all Scripture points to Christ, we make it all about Christ...

I.           In Our Preaching

II.       In Our Lives

Reflection GROUPS - 12:15PM

Reflection Questions (Applying the Gospel to Our Lives):

1.    Have you grown up in a church that preaches Christ from every text of the Bible?  Why does this matter?

2.    What does Jesus point to in Psalm 110:1?  What does Luke 24:27 say?  Then, what should our hermeneutical/interpretive principle be?

3.    Did you have a reduced, incomplete view of Christ? How does seeing Christ in every biblical text help you grow in your faith?

4.    How are you trying to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to bear on your family and in our church?

5.    Pray, asking the Lord to help Hopers to know Christ more and more.

Response Song

Show Us Christ

VERSE 1
Prepare our hearts, O God.  Help us to receive.
Break the hard and stony ground.  Help our unbelief.
Plant Your Word down deep in us.  Cause it to bear fruit.
Open up our ears to hear.  Lead us in Your truth.

 CHORUS
Show us Christ, show us Christ
O God, reveal Your glory
Through the preaching of Your Word
Until every heart confesses Christ is Lord

 VERSE 2
Your Word is living light upon our darkened eyes
Guards us through temptations.  Makes the simple wise.
Your Word is food for famished ones, freedom for the slave,
Riches for the needy soul.  Come speak to us today

 BRIDGE
Where else can we go, Lord
Where else can we go
You have the words of eternal life
