Eligibility for COVID Funds

Covid-19 has created many unique and unfortunate challenges for our families and members of our community. As members of Christ’s body, we wish to support you during these challenging times- for if one member suffers, all suffer together (1 Corinthians 12:26). 

Hope Presbyterian Church has been greatly blessed so that we may be generous and produce thanksgiving to God.  If you have been affected by COVID-19, allow us the opportunity to support you through prayer, finances, and physical assistance where necessary. We have created an initiation form  to put you in touch with a member of the diaconate so that we may learn how to aid you during this difficult time. Broadly speaking, listed are some situations where we encourage you to reach out to us by filling out the form. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and we encourage you to complete the initiation form even if you do not see your situation listed below.

• Unemployment

• Loss of a wages (furloughed/reduced hours)

• Unable to cover healthcare costs related to COVID-19

• Unexpected life events

• Unable to find a job

  • Includes recent college graduates not living with their families

• Unable to leave your home to get groceries/meals due to possibly being COVID-positive

Privacy

We would like to emphasize that we respect the privacy of those who complete the initiation form and will keep anonymity a priority. Your identity will only be known by 2-3 members of the diaconate.

If you require aid in the form of grocery shopping or food train, your identity may be known to more members of the diaconate as more assistance may be required to provide proper aid. Your identity will not leave the diaconate.

What happens after I apply?

Once we receive your request, a diaconate member will contact you by your preferred method and walk alongside you to learn how best to aid you during this difficult time.

We know that financial needs are often time-sensitive and urgent. Knowing this, your point of contact in the diaconate will make an effort to get you the assistance that you need as soon as possible.

What if I require recurring aid?

We will be following up with you after a week to make sure your situation has been stabilized and see if you require further help. If you require more assistance after the follow-ups, we ask that you fill out the COVID initiation form again.
